About

Magalie is a nominated and award winning actress working all over Canada; Toronto, Vancouver & Montreal.

Originally from Québec City, Magalie takes the bull by the horns and moves to Toronto at the age of 19 to study theatre at the George Brown Theatre School setting high goals of making a breakthrough in the English-speaking industry. She also trains at Armstrong Studios, Second City, The Creative Space and Pro Actors Lab. She later attends a 3-week Meisner bootcamp at The Acting Corps in L.A. in 2015 and returns to the City of Angels in 2018 to train at The Bernard Hiller Acting & Success Studio. Magalie moves to Vancouver later that year and takes scene study classes with Michael David Simms for 4 years. Over the last decade, Magalie has also been working on various dialects with Dorothy Ward, voice and dialect coach at the Stratford Festival in Canada for four seasons.

In her younger years, Magalie competed in artistic gymnastic and dance (modern, hip-hop, jazz) which granted her work as a physical performer, stunt double, acrobat and pole dancer in numerous commercials and Film & TV projects.

In 2023, her short film "Falling" that she wrote, produced and starred in appeared in multiple film festivals and won a total of 10 awards, such as “Best Actress”', “Best Romance”, “Best Director” thrice, and “Best Cinematography”.

Coming from the stage, Magalie also performed her first written play SARA in 2018 at the Montreal Fringe and “makes full use of her background in slam, dance and stunt work as she weaves and choreographs a tale of fear, violence, hope and revolt". According to theatre critic Pierre Wheeland from Cult MTL, SARA was easily the best drama production he had seen that year. Magalie made a strong come back at the 2024 Montreal Fringe by premiering her first solo show titled Homecumming, telling the story of a woman who loses her orgasms and as a result, loses herself. Written and performed by yours truly, Magalie’s solo play was nominated for the two Frankies Awards "Best Comedy" and "Best Production".

In between her filming, Magalie runs her self-tape & acting studio ARTÉFAKT under which she produces, writes and directs her films, teaches on-camera classes and coaches professional actors on their auditions. And they BOOK!

THE PHOENIX PEACHLAND NEW’S “The best film experience of my life”

[…] “Peachland was breathtaking,” said the Quebec-born actress during a recent interview. “The view from my balcony was amazing – the lake takes the whole view. And most of the crew members were local to the Okanagan and I felt very welcomed. It felt like we were all family putting an amazing movie together. It was the best film experience of my life.”

She added seeing the big peach at the bottom of Ponderosa every day during filming last August made her smile. “It’s very iconic,” she said. “Don’t ever take it down!” Magalie added she understands the “summer cottage” feel of Peachland, and she loves it. “The people living there year round are extremely lucky.”
